Price list for wedding reportage.

Interview and/or Pre-wedding

Before the wedding, communication is important between the couple and the photographer. This not only enables timetables and further details to be organised, but also cultivates mutual trust and knowledge before the wedding day.
The best way of achieving this is to have a relaxed photo session. The place where this session takes place will be decided according to circumstances, personality, taste and the couple’s hobbies. This usually happens between one and six months prior to the wedding.
Before this session, I will have sent them a questionnaire asking for some personal details and further information related to the planning of the wedding. This questionnaire has to be handed in a few days before this meeting. This allows minor details to be arranged on the photo session day there and then, so that we can have plenty of time for the photographs.
If a couple did not want to have this photo session before the wedding, the only essential part is the interview (completely unavoidable). However, since it is included in all packages, I strongly recommend to all couples to take this great opportunity to obtain beautiful pictures in the pre-wedding session.

Preparations for the Bride at the house or at a hotel.

If you were to ask a photographer where he would like the bride to get ready for the wedding, I am pretty sure that the photographer’s order of preference would be: first the hotel, second your own house, and third your parents’ house.
The reason is quite simple: unless your parents have a big new house, newly decorated, the photographs will normally be infinitely better if taken in a hotel. The decoration, the spaces, the light, the intimacy and the tranquillity of a suite will provide a nicer, more relaxed and unassuming appearance to the photos and the album.
Nevertheless, if the couple already have a house in the same city that the wedding is going to take place, the usual thing to do is to get ready there, which is a better option than getting ready at the parents’ house.
However, I completely understand the many determining factors behind the bride’s decision to get ready in one place or another. Once I have made the suggestion, I will not insist anymore on this subject. Whatever the location, we will get the most out of it, whether it is surrounded by family, or in a hotel.

Ceremony.

We tend to meet with the groom and his family around half an hour before the wedding where the ceremony is going to take place, whether it is a civil or religious ceremony. The other option is to meet up with the groom 15 minutes before the ceremony, if a session has already been done at the house of the groom. The couple usually want some photographs with the family, and this is the perfect time to get the groom’s photos done since there are usually no guests (or hardly any) thirty minutes before the wedding. After that, guests start to arrive and we take this opportunity to capture snapshots of greetings, the arrival of people, and the different moments that occur.
The arrival of the bride is one of the special moments of the wedding where solemnity achieves its peak. We will take snapshots discretely, trying to capture the intensity of the protagonists’ emotions.
For us, it is an honour to be privileged witnesses of these moments and we live with great emotion and complicity these significant minutes in a couple’s life.
During the ceremony, we will capture an infinity of images: wide angular, medium shots, close-ups of the bride, the groom, and their parents, relatives, guests, and photographs of the venue.

Exteriors/ Outdoors

If the schedule of the wedding allows us to have this session (without jeopardizing the photos taken at the pre-wedding session), we may have some photographs taken outdoors. The place and the duration of this session will depend on the circumstances of the wedding and the planning done prior to it with the couple.
Contrary to the pre-wedding session, these outdoor photographs during the wedding day are limited in both duration and the availability of the places chosen. It is also conditioned by the time of the ceremony and the reception and how distant these two places are from each other.

If the couple wants to have these photographs taken in a particular place, they have to find out certain information as soon as possible in order to plan for the wedding day in the most convenient way.

In Marquez Fotografos, we will be delighted to help in this matter by suggesting different sites where these photographs could be taken, taking into consideration the season, time of sunset, available time between the ceremony and the reception, and the route between them.

Nevertheless, if the couple is not interested in having these photos taken, or there is no time left during wedding day, there is no problem at all because they are included in the package price. Unfortunately, these photographs cannot be exchanged for something different if they cannot be taken.

Notwithstanding this, if the couple wanted this session and for whatever reason it could not be done during the wedding day, we could arrange to do this session another day without any extra costs. The only stipulation is that they could not be taken during the wedding day at all.

Reception drinks

The reception drinks are included in all packages. This includes from the arrival of the newly weds at the reception venue to their entrance into the dining hall. We also take pictures of the top table, and general pictures of the atmosphere and guests before finishing this session.
During the reception drinks, we will take snapshots of the newly-weds and their guests, we will take the group photographs that were previously arranged with relatives and friends, and any spontaneous unplanned photos.
We will be alert and expectant at all times, in order to capture all those small stories with wide angles, and details that show the decoration and atmosphere of the venue.

Obtaining the original files

The digital files are included in the price in package 1, and they become an option in for the other packages. If the couple decide to go for package 1, the reportage is given without an album to start with. The files are handed out processed, that is, cropped, with the appropriate contrast, exposure, saturation, tone, and  whatever improvement is required.
The files are JPG (maximum resolution and without water marks), but they could be available in any other digital format preferred by the couple.
It usually takes between one week and a month to process the files.
If a couple is clear that they only want the files of their wedding reportage without an album, package 1 would be the best option because it allows the possibility to buy an album later on. The final price to be paid in this situation would be the price of package 2 (which includes an album), and the files will have to be purchased separately.

The number of photographs given is around 500; however there could be more or less depending on whether the couple had a pre-wedding session, exteriors or the complete package.

The Album

With relation to the bound albums, my preferred size is the vertical format 30x40 due to its proportions, allowing space to place two big vertical photographs or a big horizontal one taking both pages. This is format I always tend to use. However, we are open to any other suggestions in terms of format and size.
Couples will be able to personalise the cover of the album choosing from a variety of designs, leathers, colours, etc., ranging from the most serious and discrete to the most daring.

The selection of the photos depends completely on the couple. They will decide which photos they want and their size in the album (small, medium or large).
Even though a large amount of photographs are taken, in my opinion only a small amount should be in the album. These should be the best or the most representative photos of the day. If the album gets saturated with too many photographs, those images that should shine will be practically unnoticed amongst the rest. The impact of an image is directly proportional to its size. Therefore it is a shame to have two similar medium size photographs, when it would have been better to choose one and have it on a large size to create a greater impact. Taking this into account, I usually collaborate with the couple in the selection process in order to achieve a simple, clean, stylish and timeless album.  We have to remember that the couple will have access to all the photographs not included in the album by having the HD multimedia, paper copies, or the JPG files.
From my point of view, one hundred photographs should be more than enough to capture the important or representative moments of the wedding day. There are a multitude of ways in which to use the remaining photos that will not detract from the main album.

Because of this, we have decided to provide the possibility to alter the number of pages from 20 to 30 by paying just 200€ more, always keeping more or less the same number of photographs. In this way, for a small price difference, we could build an album with larger photographs providing a more elegant and minimalistic design, where each image sits better without having to compete with the others.
In any case, the couple will be able to add in either option (20 or 30 pages) extra pages at 30€ per page. Due to the percentage of people who prefer to have the classic album with photographs stuck in, we also offer this possibility at Marquez Fotógrafos. The work ethos in terms of the treatment of the images, style, selection, etc., is exactly the same to that of bound albums. The only difference is that the photographs (in different sizes) will be stuck in a 35x35 album, with its corresponding protective paper between pages, like traditional albums.
