Photo title: Tempus Fugit
Paragraph: Free creation
Apart from his title "Tempus Fugit" (a latin expression meaning "time flies" and the necessity to take advantage of it), I cannot find a clear meaning in the image but something confusing and recurring. To relate the passing of time to female nudity can be ambigous because it can carry different messages. One cannot deny it is a very thought-provoking photograph because it provides elements for the observer to think about and speculate as to its message. It could be how beauty is affected by the passing of time. However, that message would be still ambiguos because even though we can appreciate "aging" in her hands, her body still looks pretty. It could also mean an opportunity that has passed to relate the woman to the hour glass, meaning something like "your time has passed". If this was the case, I still find the hands quite relaxed, lacking some expressivenes. And I could say many more From my point of view, a good photograph such as this one (where the technique and the composition serve the purpose of an idea), to be considered as very good, it would need to be more specific with its message. Nevertheless, in an official assessment of the photograph, a score of 79 would be likely to go up in rank once the opinion of all the judges had been listened and it had been re-assessed.
Impact
This photograph catches your attention straight away due to the elements that it presents (hour glass, hands and a female partial nude). The impact is very good.
Technical Quality
It is a technically correct photograph.
Composition
Very good in terms of composition. Very balanced. The hands help the circular reading of the image. It is a very nice and thought-provoking photograph.
